Using UnlimiClip
UnlimiClip finds the best moments in a long video and exports them as finished clips. This guide walks through the app from installation to your first exported clip.
1. Get started
Download the installer for your computer from the download page (Windows 64-bit, or macOS for Apple silicon or Intel) and install it. Open UnlimiClip and choose Sign in: your browser opens unlimiclip.com, you sign in or create an account, and the browser hands the sign-in back to the app. Your 14-day free trial starts on that first sign-in — no credit card.
On its first launch the app downloads FFmpeg, the video engine it uses for every export. Keep the computer online for that first start.
2. Find clips with AutoClip
AutoClip is the first screen of the app. It needs two downloads the first time, both run on your own computer and are never sent anywhere:
- The AI pack — a small language model and the program that runs it. Install it from the AutoClip page or from Settings → AutoClip; the optional on-screen check adds a vision component.
- A speech model for transcription. AutoClip builds its clips from full sentences, so the large model, which punctuates best, is the default. Speech models are managed in Settings → Subtitles & Speech.
Then open a video and choose the options: the speech model, the language (or automatic detection), the clip length range, and how many clips you want — a number, or All for every clip that clears the quality bar. AutoClip transcribes the video, skips advertisements, channel promotion and repeated teasers, scores every passage with the local model, checks that each clip starts and ends on a complete sentence and still makes sense on its own, and gives each clip a title and a one-line reason. When a video has room for fewer good clips than you asked for, you get fewer clips rather than weak ones.
3. Review and adjust clips
Clips are listed best first. Play any clip, then move its start or end: type the times, drag the edges on the timeline, or use the keyboard — . and , move the end to the next or previous sentence, Shift + . / , move the start, Space or K plays and pauses, and ↑ / ↓ step through the list. Edits snap to sentence boundaries so a clip never cuts a word in half.
4. Export through a template
Export the clips as plain cuts, or pick a saved template: every clip then comes out fully edited by it — for example vertical, captioned and with a headline. A template with variations exports one file per combination for each clip. Files are written to the output folder set in Settings → Output & Files.
5. Templates
A template is a stack of edits you build once: output size and format, crop, subtitles, text and image overlays, music, speed and visual effects. UnlimiClip starts you with 20 starter templates for Shorts, Reels, TikTok and YouTube; edit, duplicate or delete them on the Templates page. Images, music and videos used by templates live on the Assets page.
6. Right-click menu
Right-click a video in Windows Explorer or the macOS Finder and choose UnlimiClip → AutoClip this video to open it on the AutoClip page, or AutoClip with Template A–D to find and export its clips in one go with the template assigned to that slot. Assign the slots and turn the menu on or off in Settings → Automation. On a Mac the actions appear under Quick Actions; if they do not, enable them in System Settings → Login Items & Extensions → Finder.
Everything the app does is also available from the command-line tool unlimiclip-cli — see the command-line reference.
7. Account, trial and devices
Your account is your licence: buying UnlimiClip unlocks the account you are signed in to at checkout, with no key to enter. One computer can be signed in at a time — signing in on another one signs the first out. The app keeps working offline for up to 7 days after its last check. Manage your account, buy a licence or download your data on your account page.
The same account also signs in to EditZeal, our other app; each app has its own trial and licence.
8. Updates
UnlimiClip checks for updates and installs them from Settings → Updates. A purchase includes every update released within a year, and security fixes after that.
9. Getting help
Write to contact@unlimiclip.com or use the contact form. For a problem with the app, include the app version from Settings → Advanced → About and your operating system.
